#bec2basics
What does it mean to go back to basics? First, we get grounded. We go back to the roots - who we are; what inspires us. We keep it simple (and that is hard work, but I assure you, it can be done... and needs to be done). We do the work for ourselves from there with love and kindness. Then, we find our "WHY".

Why #bec2basics?My approach to health and wellness is simple. Going back to the basics: nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress resilience, social connections and avoiding harmful substances and behaviours.
These are also the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine. |
My Personal Transformation Story
It started with crashing off my bike in April 2023 I recall having an out of body experience, and wondering if I would wake up before it all went black. Fortunately, it wasn't my time yet, and I got away with minor injuries. Since then, I have been going through a personal transformation process, built around the six pillars of lifestyle medicine. If I'm being given more time, I should live well and purposefully.
So, the big questions. Who am I? What do I really want to do. These are really about finding my "WHY". One thing that was clear to me was that I could be of service to others like myself who would like to transition to a healthier lifestyle. I am happy to share more about my personal transformation story. |
Health Coaching
Simply put, a health coach is someone who will support you to achieve your personal goals in health and wellness. Pretty much like a coach for anything - sports, leadership and management, etc. - but to help you live your best life.
Apart from tapping into my own personal transformation journey, I am training and upskilling. I have completed a two-month 'Health and Wellness: Designing a Sustainable Nutrition Plan' course by Harvard Medical School Executive Education. I am currently attending a 6-month Duke Health and Wellness Coach Training programme, following which I will take the exam to be certified. Duke, with one of the best medical and academic systems in the world, is a pioneer in wholistic health; and the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health is a thought leader in lifestyle medicine. Please follow and support me if you are interested in what I will have to share from my learning and growth. |
